  2. First Step 2/8+1/4= ? First you have to find a common denominator(you have to find if 4 goes into 8 or what 8 and 4 both go into) 4 goes into 8 2 times so this is what you do next: ¼ you multiply the 1 and 4 by 2.

  3. Secound Step 4 goes into 8 two times so this is what you do next: ¼ you multiply the 1 and 4 by 2.

  4. Third Step That equals 2/8 so now you have found a common denominator and it is time to add 2/8 + 2/8=4/8 or ½. That is how you add two fractions.
