  32. DIANE GODWIN Next Steps & What We Can Do Now • Statewide campaign – 29 of you asked for statewide publicity – no funding available at this time. • Jean Massey is working with the Office of the Governor to find some funding for CTE publicity. • Templates – 12 of you asked for some sort of presentation template – we will provide PowerPoint files with content info for each cluster by the beginning of the year. • Counselor Consultation – 12 of you asked for this throughout the survey – Betsey Smith, working with American School Counseling Association, has developed a MS School Counseling Model that will help both academic and CTE counselors. It is in the pilot phase this year.

  33. Pre-Test/Post-Test Jean Massey

  34. JEAN MASSEY Pre-Test/Post-Test • The performance part (50%) of M-STAR is requiring a method of measuring student outcomes and linking those outcomes to individual teacher evaluations by 2014-2015. • Two approaches for non-SATP areas: (1) base teacher performance on school-wide growth targets; (2) conduct some type of pre-test/post-test of course content to measure individual student growth • We are investigating and piloting a pre-test/post-test approach. To begin, we are starting this year with these programs: • Culinary (using national certification, pre-test/post-test) • Construction (using NCCER for pre-test/post-post) • Automotive (using CPAS-type test as pre-test and NATEF as post-test) • Teacher Academy (using CPAS for both pre/post-tests)
