Management Drivers • Management drivers are the values, vision, mission, goals, and objectives that drive the roles and functions of a manager. • These drivers guide how managers make decisions, solve problems, allocate resources, and train staff. They help people become more efficient and effective managers.

  3. What are organizational values? Why do we care?

  4. Values • Values underlie the very reason for the organization’s existence. • Values are the principles, qualities, and beliefs regarding the organization. • Who the organization is & what is important.

Our role as faculty… • Empower self-confidence and cultivate critical thinking. • Assist students in developing research and evaluation skills so they understand the significance of evidenced-based decision making. • Provide a solid foundation in leisure theory and philosophy. • Help students develop a keen understanding of programming for diverse populations, including socio- cultural factors and people with disabilities.

Our role as faculty… • Provide opportunities for students to acquire practical experiences through volunteerism, practicums, internships, and service learning. • Teach students to develop a “big picture” approach to the profession by understanding trends and issues in the field. • Remain current in our professional organizations in order to continue to gain knowledge through professional development activities which will ultimately drive cutting edge curriculum.
