  1. OVERHEAD LINES IMPORTANCE-DECISION MAKING BASIS FOR REVITALIZATION NESESSITY THE MOST IMPORTANT IS: adequate allocation of money to those OHLs: • that are in the emergency for revitalization activities, • that have the greatest impact on reliability. METHODOLOGY FOR SELECTION OF OHL CANDIDATES FOR REVITALIZATION

  2. Figure 1 -Diagram of methodology of OHL selection for revitalization

  3. RELIABILITY OF LINES WHICH ARE CANDIDATES FOR REVITALIZATION Among more lines which have equally bad state, the first to be revitalized is the one with the greatest importance for consumers and power distribution company.

  4. Figure 2. The path of crew during separating the failured section of the feeder by the halving method

  5. Figure 3 - Configuration of analyzed line - ENS=14 007 kWhCIC=16 776 $/year

  6. If the revitalised line have some kinds ofdistribution automation that can be considered by the separatereliability estimation computerprograme, developed on the University of Novi Sad.

  7. CONCLUSION The advantages of the proposed methodology are: • All OHLs are analyzed in the same way. Their availability levels are numerically determined, enabling comparation of OHLs.

  8. As the result of applying of the proposed revitalization methodology, one can get the modern OHL, capable for operation in the next 40 years.

  9. The OHLs so revitalized have increased reliability and nominal current. • The capital expenditures are only 40-60% of those for new OHLs but the operating costs and costs of energy losses are significantly reduced.
