  3. The GITTA Project GITTA is a modular online course in GIST (Geographic Information Science & Technology) • Consortium of 10 GIST teaching institutes • Institutions cover 75% of Swiss GIS students • Realized 2001-2004, Maintenance 2005-2006 • In total 50 lessons and 10 case studies

  5. Attribution: It has to be visible that GITTA is the „author“ Share Alike: Updated lessons distributed only under CC lic. Commercial use not allowed GITTA defined these rules! The GITTA consortium would like to share the e-learning lessons with other universities or schools. Therefore the content is published under the Creative Commons license. Opening the content under the Creative Commons lic.

  6. eLML: eLesson Markup Lang. • Lesson starts with entry & goals and ends with a summary (optional in unit) • Self-assessments are optional on both levels • Content stored in learning objects (clarify, look act) • Both glossary and bibliography are validated via the XML schema • Metadata only for tutors

  7. eLML: Output options • XHTML 1.0 with personal layout • No XML knowledge needed (CSS/HTML) • PDF (Formatting Obj.) • IMS Content Package and SCORM supported • LaTeX in preparation

Why use GITTA lessons? • You dont have to create your own lessons • Using eLML you can create personal layout • By using and updating the GITTA lessons you can contribute to keep the quality of the lessons high • We are looking for partners wanting to translate existing GITTA lessons into their native language (Polish?)
