  11. Assignment Information The Presentation has two (2) parts. 1.) Students will write a brief description about an historic site or ancient city. This description will include basic information about the Historic Site they have chosen. Length: T.B.D. 2.) Students will create a display. This will showing evidence of their research process & will share interesting information.

  13. Part 1 - Research Notes Your Research Notes will be handed in and are worth a significant portion of your Project mark. To be graded by Ms. Larocque

  14. Part 2– Presentation Present information to classmates on your chosen historic site.

  15. Part 2 - Presentation Grades/Assessment Your Presentation will be marked using Self-Assessment, Peer-Assessment and you will also receive teacher comments.

  16. Project Goals Research Notes Give students opportunities to search for and evaluate information in print and online. Exposes students to 10 different Historic Places. Allows students to see clues and evidence of Past Civilizations. Goals of Presentation Give students opportunities to stretch their critical thinking skills when creating questions to ask classmates about projects. Challenge students on their understanding of their research by questioning them about the civilization they studied. Encourage students to make their own connections to aspects of ancient civilizations (to other ancient civilizations, to Paleolithic peoples, or to more modern societies)

  17. Machu Picchu Sample Introduction This mountaintop was home to the Inca in the 15th Century. The Inca were an American civilization who lived high in the Andes Mountains (modern day Peru). Today, the ruins at Machu Picchu are threatened by over-tourism.
