  1. Integrated Network of Transportation Information (INTI) Update Karen Jehanian KMJ Consulting, Inc. ITSA Annual Meeting May 21, 2003

  2. INTI Update – May 2003 • Conference Notes • What is the INTI? • Summary of Actions from INTI Workshop • What’s Next

  3. WorkshopExpectations • Buy-In - An agreement amongst the various constituencies that INTI will affect everyone, and that they must work together in order to most efficiently launch this effort (and to ensure it is balanced across the various needs) • End-State - An understanding of each constituency's end-state for the INTI. What do they want the INTI to do for them, both short and long term. What are their needs and wants. And what are the priorities of these needs and wants? • Action Plans - What are the challenges in meeting these priorities, and what actions must we take - both short and long term - in order to move forward? We want some clearly defined actions coming out of the workshop, not just wild ideas and concepts. Clear projects that can be initiated in the short term, and programs that need to be developed in the longer term. And how all these projects and programs relate to current and planned activities already underway throughout the various sectors of the ITS industry. • Clarion Call - Is there a better term or set of terms that we can use instead of INTI and Infostructure? And what about a clarion call, something that all the various constituencies can rally around, something we can take to Congress, and something that we can point to and demonstrate progress?

  4. Conference Structure • Tuesday – • Establish the background and identify end-state visions • Real-world example from the military • Wednesday – • Break-out groups to prioritize the end states • Structural models • First round of break-outs for challenges & actions • Thursday – • Second round of break-outs for challenges & actions • Discussion on terminology & clarion call • Next steps roundtable with industry experts
