  1. SEARCHING FOR HEROES • 1.You will be completing a mini-research project with your group. • 2. Each group will be given a genre (type) of hero to research from this list: • Political/ social justice (e.g. Martin Luther King, Nelson Mandela) • Sporting heroes (for example Olympians, footballing and boxing champions) • Mythological heroes & superheroes (e.g. Odysseus, Superman) • Literary & artistic heroes (e.g. Anne Frank, James Joyce) • Spiritual & religious heroes (e.g. Mother Theresa) • 3. In your groups, find 5 heroes for your category. When choosing your heroes ask yourselves 3 questions: did they excel, have they achieved & do they inspire people?. • 4. Once you have picked your heroes, find 5 fascinating facts about each: these can be achievements, places they were born or important dates: anything that makes your hero stand out from the crowd or tells us more about what makes them tick. • 5. Find a large picture of each hero and bring it to next lesson. • 6. Homework must be finished for Thursday’s lesson.
