Welcome. Mrs. Schmitt’s 1 st Grade Parents. About Me. This is my 13 th year teaching 1 st grade and my 6 th year at Page Jackson. I am working on my Masters’ in Administration. I live in the Page Jackson Community with my husband, Mark and our boys Joe and Will and our dog Holly.

Communication • Class Website at http://boe.jeff.k12.wv.us/Page/1094 • Agenda Books home every evening • Panda Folders home every evening • Email at aschmitt@access.k12.wv.us • Behavior will be marked in the Agenda Books • Graded Work will come home in Panda Folders • Homework will be assigned M – Th • Progress Reports home on Nov. 1st • Parent/Teacher Conferences Nov. 7th

Behavior Management • Earn Positive Paws for AWESOME Behavior • School Wide Rules and Expectations • Buy from the Panda Pit Stop Shop twice a month with 2 or more Positive Paws • Behavior color marked in agenda nightly • Students all begin on Orange daily • Movement is fluid all day for positive and negative behaviors

  8. Graded Work • Standards Based Reporting • Examples…M, P, L or E or 8/10 • M – Meeting Expectations • P – Progressing Toward Expectations • L – Limited Progress • E – Exceeding Expectation (all tests have opportunities to exceed) • Not all papers are graded but are used to drive instruction

  9. Homework • Written in agenda DAILY • Monday – Thursdays • Studying for tests • Reading at home 10 minutes per night

  13. Other Info… • Birthdays are celebrated with treasure box and other special non-food treats • No snacks in 1st Grade as lunch is at 12:20pm. • Classroom Volunteer sign up on back table
