  5. PHIL 3: Ethical Issues in Computing • focus on end-users and their computer-mediated interactions: property rights, privacy, hacking, Nettiquette, software engineering, and the social and political dimensions of global computing.

  7. COEN 197Undergraduate Research Satisfies Integrated Education Requirement

  8. Catalog Description COEN 197 - Research Involves working in a one-year-long research project with one of the faculty members. Students should register three times in a row for a total of 6 units. Does not substitute the senior project, which may be a continuation of the research done. Registration requires the faculty member's approval. Students must have junior or senior status and a minimum GPA of 3.0. (2 units)

  10. Features • Take a few MS courses during senior year • Graduate courses taken while an undergraduate are already covered by your full-time tuition. • Many MS core courses are replaced by free electives due to similar undergraduate courses • Satisfies Integrated Education requirement

  11. Two MS Degree Programs • MS in Computer Engineering • Broad-based core • Five specialization tracks: networks, security, software engineering, multimedia, architecture and systems • MS in Software Engineering • Narrow focus, greater depth • No specialization tracks

  12. Admission • BS in Engineering, Math, or Science from SCU • Minimum 2.75 gpa
