  2. 1. Background • Team working on scientific document summarization project • Min says, “how can we product-ivize this and make it useful?”

  3. 2. Motivation Get indicative feedback from researchers (i.e. the wonderful people in this room) to push the project forward. (don’t worry, there won’t be open ended questions)

  4. 3. Participation setup • Take out your smartphone • Launch browser • Go to “pollev.com/myue” • Upon loading the page, don’t press anything yet!

  5. 4. Idea • Summaries are for getting a quick understanding of a larger piece of text • Scientific summaries might help expedite the research process • Pre-process research papers into summaries, host them & provide a REST endpoint • Integrate this into the research work-flow • Our target: Google Scholar
