Fellowship Reference Forms • Effective for April 8, 2011 and subsequent due dates • Fellowship Reference Forms (Letters of Reference) must be submitted before the due date for the application • The 5-day, post-deadline grace period for the Letters for Reference has been withdrawn. Notice of Change in Policy on the Submission of Reference Forms (Letters of Reference) for Kirschstein-NRSA Fellowship (F) Applications (NOT-OD-11-047)

  3. U01 Applications now Electronic • Effective May 25, 2011 Single Project U01s will be submitted by Grants.gov electronic application • Multi-Research Project will not be transitioned to electronic submission at this time. • Look for new FOA after March 25, 2011 Announcing the Transition of Single Research Project Cooperative Agreements (Single Project U01s) to Electronic Submission for Due Dates on or After May 25, 2011 (NOT-OD-11-048)

  4. Biosketch Form Modification • For May 25, 2011 and subsequent due dates. • New policy permits PIs (and other Key Persons) to describe personal factors that may have delayed their transition to research independence (such as illness, disabilty, and family care responsibilities). Modification of the Biographical Sketch in NIH Grant Application Forms (PHS 398, PHS 2590, and the SF 424 R&R) to Permit a Description of Factors that may have Reduced Productivity (NOT-OD-11-045)
