  3. Habitat/Ecosystem • Arctic foxes live in the Arctic regions of Europe, Asia, & North America.

  4. Adaptations • A thick, deep, & white winter coat • A good amount of body fat • A body shape built to conserve heat • Furry soles

  5. Colors: Summer/Winter • White arctic fox: Summer- mottled gray- brown Winter- white • Blue arctic fox: Summer- dark gray-brown Winter- gray-black with a bluish tinge

  6. Human Use • Humans hunt arctic foxes for their fur. They use it to make coats & other accessories (gloves, scarves, est.).

  7. Diet • Living so far north, the arctic fox is not a picky eater. • Lemmings, voles, ground squirrels, birds, birds' eggs, insects, fish, seaweed, berries, and carrion are all eaten by arctic foxes.
