Electronic 1998 - 2002 - free access • search name, keywords, institution and within thesis (FT) • borrow microfiche copy via ILL

Theses from anywhere in the World ProQuest Dissertations and Theses 1861 - present - citation only 1980’s - present - citation and abstract 1997 - present - full text - free Masters and Doctoral - strong in N.A. Ordering Theses from PQDT (Order button on screen) pdf from web $30.00 unbound paper $41.00 - (4-5 business days) + GST Library

Borrowing Theses??? • UW theses paper copy for use in Library only (request item in TRELLIS) • Free printing - microfiche copy UW theses • Every UW dept. has a collection of theses e.g.ChemEng ones in Grad Student Lounge. Ask your Grad Secretary for details. • Submit RACER request. ILL will try to borrow a circulating copy. Often not available or fee charged. • Search the author’s name in a subject database. Papers written from the thesis may be just as helpful.

TRELLIS or UW E-thesis database for UW theses (as well as PQDT and Canada Thesis Portal.) 4. Non-UW thesis can be bought and rarely borrowed. Check IST for courses on how to submit your thesis electronically. (November, March)
