How to choose a Program • If it is a Ph.D. program that you are considering, can you get your Master’s Degree along the way? • If you are considering a clinical program, is it APA approved? • Is the school located in a place that you are willing to live for two to six years? • Can you afford it? 9. Timeline • November • Personal statement • Have people read your drafts • Ask letter writers to write you a rec letter • Give them ample notice (at least a month) • Give them materials • Retake GRE (if needed)

10. Timeline • December • Complete applications (earliest deadlines are Dec 1st) • Keep copies of your materials • Check that rec letters were received • January • Keep submitting applications (if applicable) • Start FAFSA – financial aid
