  6. Cooperative Roles • Historian (1) - will compile a timeline that has at least 10 SIGNIFICANT events that have shaped your country's recent history (from 1950 through the present). For each event, you must write two sentences that describe the event and its significance. • Documentarian (1) - will make a 2 ½-3 minute video that documents some interesting aspect of your country's history (ie. Fidel Castro's rise to power) using relevant pictures and text. You may use any program you'd like (animoto, PhotoStory, Movie Maker, etc.) • Editorialists (2)- will write a one page editorial based on a controversial issue surrounding the United States' relationship with this country. (ie. should the U.S. end its embargo with Cuba? • Political Cartoonist (1) - will find and analyze 3 political cartoons that relate to your country's current affairs. Then, will create their own political cartoon (you can use a neat website http://comiqs.com/ or you can draw one that can be scanned) • Biographer (1) – you will create a one page resume on an important person in your country’s history.

  7. Getting to know your country… You will read the first article listed under your country, and answer the following questions: • Identify & define important people/places/events • What is the current state of your country? • What events have brought it to this point? • How does the situation in your country relate to the US? How, historically, has the US been involved in your country? (if your article discusses this) • http://Mrslindinger.wikispaces.com/latinamerica
