  2. Boston Tea Party • D- December 16 • E- Boston Tea Party • N- Hutchinson, colonist, patriots, George III • S- Colonist disguise themselves as Indians and snuck on board a ship that was carrying the tea and dumped it over board to show they wouldn't stand for taxation without representation.

  3. Boston Massacre • D- January 1770 • E- Fight between some boys and Redcoats • N- British and Americans • S- There was a fight and resulted in many injuries.

  4. Coercive Acts D- Spring of 1774 E- Passing of Coercive Acts N- Parliament, Massachusetts Governor, British S- Boston Port closed until the colonist paid for the tea. Governors power was increased as others powers were decreased. There were many unjust laws and treating the people as criminals. Americans change the name of the Corrosive Acts to the Intolerable Acts.

Gaspe incident • D-Early June of 1772 • E-  British patrol boat following a suspected smuggler. • N- British, Lieutenant Dudingston • S- Locals torched the boat Gaspee which Lieutenant Dudingston was in charge of. It was a crime but when the British tried to take down the culprits no one would testify against them.

  6. First meeting from resistance to revolution • D- June 1774 • E- Meeting for the delegates from all colonies to figure out a action in which they should do. • N- Colonies, Joseph Galloway, John Adams • S- First Continental Congress meeting. Many ideas were introduced by people. Decided to boycott British goods. Also to stop sending goods to Britain.  Also to watch over the people and to expose them if they weren't doing what they were told.

Tea Crisis • D- Spring of 1773 • E- There was a monopoly held by the British East India Company. • N- British East India company, Lord North • S- Selling tea directly to Americans with tax.  So it was going ok for bit but then something was wrong and authorities ordered them back to England without even giving it to the people.

  8. Sugar Act • D- April 1764 • E- Sugar acts past • N- George Grenville, Americans • S- Tax on sugar, coffee, wines, and other things imported into America in substantial amounts.

  9. Navigation Acts • D- 1650’s to 1660’s • E- Made this act so that it protected there goods. • N- British, Dutch, Colonist • S- Protect the British colonial markets from Dutch shipping.

  10. Declaratory Act • D- March 1766 • E- Right after the Stamp Act was repealed they passed another act which let Parliament be able to pass any laws they want without colonist opinion. • N- Parliament, America, British • S-It was unfair to the colonist that they had no say really about laws that affect them the most.

  11. Stamp act • D- may 1765 • E- tax on all printed products. • N-Patrick Henry, British, Americans • S- People started arguing back against the rules.
