  21. How are Federal Ambulance Rates Adjusted?

Annual adjustments of ambulance rates are set by federal government using a calculation of the Consumer Price Index (CPI). 2009 formula is (2008 July CPI%) minus 1% which becomes the ambulance rate increase effective January 2009 July 2007 CPI = 3.7% Therefore, EVAC’s 2008 rates were adjusted in January by 2.7% 3.7% minus 1%=2.7%
