  1. SWP-Fourth Six Weeks 8th Grade

You have two choices this six weeks: • Choice #1 • Your first choice is a research option. • You will write different paragraphs. • Each paragraph will be about a different science topic that we have studied/will have studied. • In each paragraph, you will include a definition for your topic, an example, three facts, who is involved, an interesting fact, and other relevant information. Include information that we did not discuss in class. • Your paragraphs will be Googled for plagiarism.

  3. Your topics are- • The ages of fossils Electromagnetism • Atoms magnetic fields • Elements gravity • Compounds • Mixtures • The periodic table • States of matter • Physical and chemical changes • Chemical reactions • Acids and bases • The earth’s atmosphere

  4. Rubric: • 3 paragraphs-60 • 4 paragraphs-70 • 5 paragraphs-80 • 6 paragraphs-90 • 7 paragraphs-100 • 10 paragraphs=105 • This project is due January 25th.

  5. Choice #2 • Experiment or Demonstration • What is the difference in an experiment and a demonstration? • An experiment has variables and a question to be answered. • A demonstration shows or is a how-to. • You may choose the topic for your experiment/demonstration. • I need to know the day before you present. • Powerpoints are fine-especially if your presentation is loud, smelly, dangerous, etc. • If the class can participate, you get +5. • This project is due February 8th.
