  3. Meet the Teachers • Mrs. Beggs – English • Mrs. Dudley – Science • Mrs. Hartman – Reading • Mrs. Spees – Social Studies • Mrs. Wolfe – Title Reading & Math • All will teach math

  6. Switching Classes • Students rotate in a circle with their homeroom • Math last core subject hour of the day • Various groupings for math based on pre-tests, MAP data, WKCE data, and teacher recommendation • Discipline system the same in all classes

  7. Discipline System • 1st offense - Verbal warning • 2nd offense – Written warning in folder • 3rd offense – Add a written warning in folder and last in lunch line or 2 minutes after the bell • 4th offense – Red Note sent to the parents

  8. You Earned It Parties • Held at the end of each quarter • For those students with less than 3 Red Notes in a quarter • Examples of parties in the past include: • Movie & Popcorn • Board Games • BINGO Hall • Pizza & Movie & Ice Cream Party

  9. Homework • 10 minute per grade philosophy – 40 minutes for 4th grade • If more, talk to the teachers • Give time in class • Remember to read each night for Reader’s Club (15 minutes) • Remember to review spelling words each night • Genre Project (book report) – check that you are caught up on the schedule (silent reading time given each day in school)

  10. Field Trips • International Crane Foundation - Friday, Oct. 3, 2008 • Madison Capitol & Zoo – Friday, May 29, 2009 • Will send home a permission slip to cover those field trips and any others that may come up throughout the year
