  5. MURI Goals • Provide substantive multidisciplinary research experiences for IUPUI students; • Encourage faculty to engage in research that crosses disciplinary boundaries; and • Serve as a catalyst for innovation and sustained funding from external agencies.

  6. MURI Projects • Active participation on a multidisciplinary research team. • Relationships with faculty mentors. • Focused attention on an innovative, significant research question. • Development and practice of substantive research methodologies. • Demonstration of effective oral, visual, and written communication skills. • Reflection regarding personal growth and academic and career goals.

  7. Expectations • Sincere desire to learn research skills • Respect and courtesy to mentors, team members, and CRL staff • Dependability • Willingness to contribute approximately 120 hours of work to project • Attendance at required meetings • Completion of assignments

  8. Paperwork • Forms: Due Tuesday, October 9 • Contracts: Due October 20 • Contact Sheets: Due Each Month on Specified Date

  10. RISE Course Option • Allows for “R” Transcript Notation • SCI-225 (13091): MURI • Zero-credit • All disciplines • Six additional sessions • Attendance and participation • Satisfactory completion of mentored project
