  1. Welcome To AP Psychology… …where you don’t have to warped to have a good time, but it sure helps.

  2. I think there are only a few things students want to know when they register for a class…

  3. 1. What am I going to have to do in this class, (and can I do it)? First: You will need to attend class, listen and take good notes. Second: You will have reading every day as homework (usually 10-15 pages). Third: You will complete terminology cards for each vocabulary word in the unit. Fourth: You will complete a workbook to go with each unit. Fifth: Other random assignments.

  4. Will you (the teacher) be fair? -I try to be fair. -I’ll follow the policies in the disclosure (so read it.) -I work hard to be respectful of my students- I hope you’ll do the same.

  5. Am I going to have any fun in this class? -I can guarantee that I will have fun in this class (but then I’m doing what I love.) -Whether or not you have fun is largely up to you.

  6. In addition to these questions, I think AP students want to know one more thing…

  7. …do you (the teacher) know what you’re doing? -Definitely. -I have a plan. -The plan works. -My students who work consistently throughout the year will be ready to take and pass the Advanced Placement Psychology test. Our pass rate at Weber High is significantly higher than the national average pass rate. For example, in 2010, 94% of the students at Weber who took the test passed it compared with 66% nationally.

  8. So AP Psychology might be right for you if…. You would like to earn some college credit while you’re still in high school. You aren’t afraid of a bit of hard work. You are interested in people. You wonder what makes people do the things they do. You wonder what can be done to make life better for people. You like to learn, laugh, and share interesting ideas with classmates
