  3. Major Actions • Revised Terms of Reference for ACWI review • Meetings in Dec.2002 and June 2003 • Sessions at July 2003 UCOWR conference • Special issue in progress of Water Resources Update (UCOWR) • Ongoing outreach effort to public and private sector

  4. Work Groups • Developing a conceptual model of water sustainability • Compiling existing water indicators from other efforts • Identifying criteria for water sustainability • Defining what research is needed about sustainability

  5. Future Activities • SWRR meetings in Nov.2003 and Feb.2004 (Palo Alto regional meeting) • Nov.2003 regional meeting at Harvard conference Ecological Engineering for Integrated Water Management • Identifying national and regional conferences for SWRR presentations and sessions

  6. Terms of Reference for ACWI review • Draft compiled by those from federal & state government and the private sector • Scope includes developing national level water indicators • Report to ACWI by Oct.2005 on conditions & trends in water resources that affect long-term sustainability • Describes the role of Co-chairs & Steering Committee
