  1. Competition Tryout Dates • Monday, March 18th – Thursday, March 21st • Main Gym at LHS from 4:00-6:30 • Actual tryouts on Thursday • The list of 2013 cheerleaders will be posted on the Lambert Competition Cheerleading Webpage late that evening.

  2. Competition Eligibility & Spots • JV competition- 9th & 10th graders • 16-20 spots • Varsity competition- All grades • 16-20 spots

  3. Approximate Cost for Competition • Varsity: $500 • JV: $400 • will include choreography, music, practice clothes, shoes, bag, sweatshirt, warm-up, bow, bloomers, uniform usage, competition fees, transportation, etc.

  4. Important Competition Dates • Team meeting: March 25th @ 4pm • Parent meeting: March 25th @ 6pm • Money Due!!!! • Summer Practices • Choreography: June 14-16 • Mini Camp Dates • June 10th thru June 13th • July 15th thru July 18th • Junior Longhorn Camp (JV only): July 29th-31st

  5. Requirements for Lambert Competition Cheerleading • Completed Application Packet • Physical – up to date and on file with Ms. Olvaney • Previous Coach Recommendation • Physical Forms • Participation Form • Cheer/Chant • Dance • Jumps‏ &Tumbling • Rubric based

  6. Lambert Cheerleading Expectations • Follow all rules stated by the LHS Cheerleading Constitution • Attend summer activities and camps • Participate in all fundraisers and community service • Maintain high academic standards • Participate in pre-/post-game activities and preparations • Attend all games and practices

  7. Sideline Tryout Dates • Tuesday, April 16th- Friday, April 19th • AUX gym at LHS on Tues. & Wed. from 4:00-6:30 • Main Gym on Thursday for camp • Friday Tryouts will run late into the evening. The girls will need to remain at try-outs until dismissed by the coaches. • The list of 2013 cheerleaders will NOT be posted at Lambert, but will be uploaded to the Lambert Sideline Cheerleading Webpage late that evening.

  8. Tryout Procedures • Tryouts are closed sessions • Students are not allowed to tryout with finger nails over GHSA regulation or artificial nails (cut to the end of the finger). • Student are not allowed to wear jewelry of any kind- rings, earrings, nose-rings, bracelets, anklets, or belly. We should not have to remind them. • No cell phones allowed in the gym- all personal items should remain in the locker room. • Students should stay on task at all times and remember that the whole week is a tryout.

  9. Sideline Eligibility • Freshmen Sideline Cheerleading- 9th graders only • JV Sideline Cheerleading – 10th grade only • Varsity Sideline 11th and 12th graders only

Requirements for Lambert Sideline Cheerleading • Completed Application Packet (Available on Sideline Cheerleading Webpage) • Physical – up to date and on file with Ms. Olvaney • Previous Coach Recommendation • Current Teacher Recommendations – 3 CORE Classes* • Any applicable Sponsor Recommendations • Completed Candidate Profile Sheet • Initial and Sign Commitment Expectations • Completed TYPED Interview Questions • Cheer/Chant • Dance • Jumps (toe-touch and one of your choice)‏ • Tumbling will be a bonus point opportunity

Rubric for Tryouts • Previous Squad Cheer Experience for Lambert • ACTIVE Extracurricular Organizations • Interview Questions • Previous Coach Recommendation Points • Teacher Recommendations • Tryout Camp Performance • Cheer (Motions/Volume/Enthusiasm) • Dance (Motions/Volume/Enthusiasm) • Enthusiasm/Spirit during Tryout • Toe Touch (Pointed Toes, Height, Landing) • Bonus Points (Tumbling, Additional Jumps)

  12. Available Spots • Freshmen Sideline : 15-17 • JV Sideline: 15-17 • Varsity Sideline: 32-36

Tentative Date Obligations for Varsity Sideline • Tryouts: April 16th-19th • Team meeting April 22nd @ 4 PM- Cheerleaders Only – Room 1810 (Laury) • Parent Meeting April 22nd in room 1810 at 6pm • Practices will begin April 23rd • Junior Longhorn Coaching Opportunities* • Summer Camp – July 23rd-26th at UGA • Summer Practices – TBD

  15. Tentative Date Obligations for Freshmen and JV Sideline • Tryouts: April 16th-19th • Team meeting for Freshmen and JV Sideline will be Monday, April 22nd at 6:00pm in Room 2811 • Meeting times for the remainder of the year will be specified by the coaches after tryouts. • Sign painting and sideline practice during the summer – TBD • Junior Longhorns Camp – July 29th-31st

  16. Approximate Cost Obligations for Freshmen and JV Sideline • $500 • will include, food, transportation, uniform usage, shoes, sweatshirt, bag, bows, bloomers, etc.

  17. Approximate Cost Obligations for Varsity Sideline • First Instalment $550: • will include food, transportation, uniform usage, overnight UGA Cheer Camp, shoes, camp attire, sweatshirt, bag, etc. Parent Meeting on April 22nd at 6pm in room 1810 will solidify the 2013 budget.
