  3. Introductions – New Members - Introduce yourself, spouse, number of children and respective grade(s). - How you found out about H.O.P.E? - Anything interesting about yourself you want to share? - Expectations

H.O.P.E’s Purpose: The Hispanic Organization for Parents and Education has been established to ensure success for all students by: -promoting and expanding parent involvement at DBHS. -providing students/parents w/educational resources. -celebrating Latino culture. -sharing our language and cultural heritage. -developing successful endeavors in an academic environment. -enhancing the collective DBHS community. -working collaboratively with other DBHS parent groups. (CAAP / KAPA/CAPA/SAPA/Brahma Boosters-Foundation)

Re-Cap of 2011-12 Accomplishments Rodeo Roundup (August 2011) 1st SAT Boot Camp (9-24 & 25, 2011) Chaparral HOPE Campus Tour (Oct. 28, 2011) UCI College Tour (Nov. 19, 2011) Annual Christmas Party/Adopt a Family (2011) Multi-Cultural Carnival (Feb 17-19, 2012) USC Campus Tour (February 25, 2012) 2nd SAT Boot Camp (April 21 & 22, 2012) Teacher Appreciation Luncheon (April 27, 2012) Scholarship Program for Seniors (May 2012)

  6. 2012-13 Goals Rodeo Roundup – Fundraiser Booth (completed) SAT Boot Camps (Sept. 2012 / April 2013) College Tours (minimum of two) Christmas Party / Adopt a Family Program Multi-Cultural Carnival Teacher Appreciation Luncheon Student Social(s) End of year picnic Scholarship program for seniors

  7. 1st SAT Boot Camp - 2012 -Hosted by H.O.P.E on DBHS Campus -”Boot Camp” is weekend seminar that arms students w/ go-to strategies for every question on test day. -Saturday & Sunday (Sept. 29 & 30, 2012 ) 9:00 am – 1:00 pm. -Cost is $165 dollars and deadline to register is September 26 at 6 pm. @ www.Catalystprep.com - Need minimum of two (2) proctors.

  8. DBHS Gourmet Food Truck Fundraiser • Held October 13, 2012 (Saturday) • Hosted by Mag 7 families • Need 4-5 volunteers from each parent group

  9. “Mag 7 Meeting Notes” -2, 280 tickets ($5.00 each) sold during Rodeo Round-up. -3,037 students enrolled this year (2012-13) 10 new students. -New teachers were hired. -API Score dropped last year by 7 points to 870. - Project “Lead The Way” directed at freshman.
