Cree. By Tyler. Food. The cree people eat many types of food. Cree men hunted and trapped animals for food. Some of the animals were caribou, deer, moose, bison, ducks, and geese. Men also fished for food . Women picked berries and gathered wild turnips. Women also cooked moose stew. Homes.

  2. Food • The cree people eat many types of food. Cree men hunted and trapped animals for food. Some of the animals were caribou, deer, moose, bison, ducks, and geese. Men also fished for food . Women picked berries and gathered wild turnips. Women also cooked moose stew.

  3. Homes • Most of the cree live in tepees and wigwams . Tepees are used during hunting season. Wigwams are made from birchbark. The Cree lived in the Woodand areas. Tepees are made from the long wood of trees.

  4. Money • The Cree traded with the British and the French. The Cree killed moose for furs to trade with the British and French for good weapons.

  5. People/history • The Cree live in central Canada. Cree lived as hunters. The Cree hunters moved place to place to hunt animals.

  6. Clothing • The Cree hunted animals for clothing. The clothing was colourful. The clothing the Cree wear are jeans, belts, neckchokers, and t/shirts.

  7. Music and dance • Music was important to Cree people because it celebrated to give thanks for a happy event and dreams.

  8. Traditional roles • Men were hunters and fishermen and sometimes they went to war. Women took care of the children, built their family house and gathered plants to eat and herbs for medicine. Kids had more chores and less time to play.
