Shestudied and worked as a special education teacher in New-Brunswick-PEI-Toronto and PEI. Sheis a Mother of one daughter, Sheheld a Ph.D in Education from Montréal University. Sheisworking in François-BuoteSchoolat Charlottetown PEI.

  4. CREE SCHOOL BOARD Youth initiative in Makak Cameroon Africa Building a bridge between Cree and Bassa Youth in MakakAfrica WHY ? HOW? WHERE?

THE CREE SCHOOL BOARD YOUTH INITIATIVE IN AFRICA WHY? • This project was initiated by my father in 1981 • He was one of the first teacher in the village • He past away in 1994 • I promises him to keep searching to do this project with a Cree Nation. • My father met Joseph in the 60’ in Baton Rouge Luisiana.

  6. THE CREE SCHOOL BOARD YOUTH INITIATIVE IN AFRICA WHY? • My dad left a land where a house can be build . All family members agreed for this project. • Cree youth will then use their leadership to find in the village a wonderfull project to keep the bridge alive. • The house build will give to them a place to stay every year when they come to do a project. • Handy Samuel My brother each summer organize a festival where Cree Youth will have a platform to create a project every year and play basketball.

  7. THE CREE SCHOOL BOARD YOUTH INITIATIVE IN AFRICA WHY? • There are youth in Cree nation who need a wonderful experience to keep going ahead in their life. An encounter that could help them to see another vision of human kind. They will help in humanitarian project. And they will motivate theirs pupils by presenting their experience back to Canada. They will also build consolidate or enrich their leadership skills. • There are youth in Makak who need a wonderful experience to keep going ahead in thei life. An encounter that could help them to see another vision of human kind. Build new values make an initativehappen. • This project could benefice from the Canadian International youth experience for his long term perspective. • Student from Cree School board will have a place to do international internship. • Receiving youth from Makak in Cree School board could be another possibility for this exchange.

THE CREE SCHOOL BOARD YOUTH INITIATIVE IN AFRICA HOW? • I am available to present the initiative to the board meeting. • We need to choose three Cree youth and a very important person in the community to perform a found raising . • We will have to involve the Cree Nation in the project . • Interest business to participate by donating money and/or releasing one of the employee to go in Africa with youth and I.

THE CREE SCHOOL BOARD YOUTH INITIATIVE IN AFRICA HOW? • Canada before the departure: • From octobre 2012 to may 2013 • Choose Youth • Perform a fundraising, open an account organise the receipt for each expense • Get the passport and vaccine 6 months before • Cameroun before the departure • Prepare the land • Choose the company to build the house with youth for the two months -July-August 2013 • Organize the accommodation for youth who are coming • Prepare the village to receive Youth, organize activities to travel to see the country and specialities of the 250 tribes, invite the Cameroon primeministerwhoo was Cameroun ambassador in Canada for 26 years, invite the Canadian ambassador • In Makak • Build the house • Discuss with local youth for next year project for the next Cree youth • Participate to the youth august festival in Makak, presenting a Pow-Wow • Manage the budget to inform Cree Donator, • Realise a blog to present the innovative initiative back to Canada with vidéos, pictures , in all the Cree School board

  11. THE CREE SCHOOL BOARD YOUTH INITIATIVE IN AFRICA WHERE? What is meant to be will be! I am 100% sure of the Grand Spirit involvement in this project. I like what Hattie Bossum-Kitche said in the Kathleen J. Wotton for Chairperson Facebook page congratulating you. “May the Great Spirit guide you” Kathleen to find the way to bring your people to engage in this wonderful and innovative project. I can come to do a presentation. I am available to motivate the youth team for this project. I have a full time job in the school here but if you come, we could have a wee-end session. I can also come for a week-end in Mistassini. Marie-Jacquard
