  2. What is MPETA? • The Manitoba Physical Education Teachers Association is affiliated with the Manitoba Teachers Society as a special area group. • When a MTS member joins MPETA, MTS allocates funding to MPETA to support our organization.

  3. What is MPETA? • MPETA is an educational and professional organization, which is dedicated to serve physical education in Manitoba schools. • MPETA exists to positively influence the lifestyles of Manitoba’s children and youth through the provision of quality leadership, advocacy, and resources in the area of physical education.

  4. MPETA Vision • Active Kids …. Healthy Future through Quality Daily Physical Education

  5. MPETA Goals • To promote and advance the quality of physical education in Manitoba schools. • To have a proactive approach to the promotion of physical education and the challenges affecting quality daily physical education programs in Manitoba schools. • To foster a closer personal and professional relationship among physical education teachers.

MPETA Goals • To further in-service training of teachers of physical education at all levels of the school system. • To distribute information about current physical education developments. • To promote continued and improved partnerships with all affiliated agencies who are associated with physical education. • To promote quality daily physical education.

MPETA Membership Benefits • Professional Development Funding • Access to funding (up to $300 every two years for every member) providing individuals have been members for at least two years. • Professional Development Opportunities • Access to FREE Regional workshops, lower general workshop fees and the opportunity to attend SAG at a reduced rate.

MPETA Membership Benefits • Facilitator Compensation • Funding for sub fees, preparation time, and other expenses available to members facilitating at MPETA workshops. • Four Journals Each Year • A great way to stay in touch with articles related to best practices, literature reviews, assessment ideas, new games and other valuable information.

MPETA Membership Benefits • Professional Support • Commitment to the promotion of physical education specialists and access to provincial network for resources and ideas. • Access to special school programs offered to MPETA members. • Development and access to resources and initiatives via the MPETA website.

  13. Membership Fees • REGULAR/FULL Member • $25/year • RETIRED Member • $15/year • AFFILIATE Member (Organization/Individual) • $15/year • STUDENT Member • $15/year • May attend SAG for FREE (additional session fees apply) and other MPETA workshop fees are reduced.
