  3. Woman of Rome The women had less power than man who can vote and lead while the woman were house manager, wool spinner and clothes maker. She could not vote or be a witness in court - unless she was a vestal. A women was also unable to possess her own things but women were allowed to divorce - without even having to give a reason.

  4. Roman Slaves Roman slaves were just broken toy to noble family but there a period when laws began to be passed to protect the rights of slaves For example promoting the rights of a family to remain united or of individuals to be treated to health by their owners. Slaves also could buy their own freedom

  5. Children of Rome After birth, the midwife placed babies on the ground: only if the paterfamilias picked it up was the baby formally accepted into the family. Newborns could be killed or sold and deformed children were exposed or killed. Children legally belonged to the father, even after a divorce. Around 25 percent of babies in the first century AD did not survive their first year and up to half of all children would die before the age of 10.

  6. Roman Men At the head of Roman family life was the oldest living male, called the "paterfamilias," or "father of the family.“ Men in ancient Rome were able to have one or two wife's.Husbands in Rome also reserved the right to murder both adulterating wives and their lovers if they discovered the infidelity under the law itself. Roman men also had to tech there children how to read, write, and how to fight with a blade.

  7. Summary of Rome So in Rome they thought the men was more powerful then the woman. They thought the women were weaker than them. They also thought that children with impurity ( disability) were cured and would need to be killed. They also threat there slave like less class even though some were men from the Patricians but were sold for slaves when they were a baby. So in totally this society is very harsh and unfair but it kept thing organized for the people.
