  2. Who is your registry staff?

  3. What are some of the most common mistakes we encounter?

  4. If you spell a name wrong we do not fix it, we don’t know if you want things spelled different • When you put for example SS 3A as the tattoo but the name is SAMTIA AMALUNA 33S, we do not fix it. • There is a $5.00 correction fee charged when the mistake is yours if it is our error we do not charge this fee. • Basically remember, we cannot assume you have not done it on purpose

  5. LEASES Your RFI tells you that you don’t have access to that dam? If you are a co-owner of a dam, you will need to have a lease in place for who ever is planning on registering the calf that year. If you are giving one of your family members a calf from your dam, and you want that calf to have their tattoo letters, you will need to lease the dam to them so they can register the calf.

  6. SIRE AUTHORIZATION Your RFI tells you that you don’t have access to the sire? If you get a warning but you are a part owner on the bull, we will override it on our end. If you are not an owner of the bull then please include an authorization from the owner with your registrations, or prior to submitting on line ensure you have sent in authorization.

  7. RFI’s & DNA paperwork are now being e-mailed directly to the members

  8. TRANSFERS • If you have your animals e-stored; transferring is as easy as sending us either the CAAFORM16, or providing a spreadsheet or list with the information required, the ID of the animal, sale date and who you are transferring it to, and e-mailing or faxing this information to us. If it is a female that you are transferring please also supply any breeding information. • If your animals are not e-stored we require the back of the “Certificate of Registration” to be completed and returned to us. • If you have lost or misplaced your paper and you require a duplicate but have sold your animal, fill out the “request for a duplicate certificate” CAAFORM19 as well as the “request for transfer” CAAFORM16 and we can do both at the same time. • In both cases if the animal is owned by more than one owner we will require notification from all owners

  9. CAAFORM16 CAAFORM19

  10. If you have transferred an animal to someone but you didn’t receive a paper for it, double check your invoice to see if it has been e-stored. • Please do not ask us to print off the paper so you can send it to the owner, that defeats the purpose of e-storing.

  11. SPOT TESTS Why do we do them and how are they chosen? As I am sure you are all aware, the spot test is randomly chosen every 200th registration. If you have sold that animal or the dam is unavailable for testing, you will need to notify us with a suitable alternate, because we are unaware of what animals you have available. You will be expected to complete this test with in a year, otherwise there will be a suspension put on your membership. The registration paper on that animal will not be released until the spot test is completed. The reason the spot test were instituted is to work towards our mandate of breed purity.

  12. Registrations by Age First Quarter 2013

  13. The majority of the work that comes through the CAA goes through the hands of the registry staff. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or concerns.

  14. We look forward to a great 2013!
