  2. Features: What is an Online Fair? An Online Fair is a web-based shopping site that is a complement to your in-school Book Fair. It’s designed to provide access to additional books – many unavailable at the in-school event, and to reach parents and family members who cannot attend the in-school Book Fair.   4. Features: Timing The Online Fair can be offered before, during, and after your in-school Book Fair. You will be able to select your date range preference during the set up process. The Online Fair cannot exceed 21 days from start to finish. Tip: Marketing materials for the Online Fair will be provided for usage during your in-school Book Fair.   5. Features: Distribution All Online Fair orders ship together directly to school. Each order is bagged and labeled by classroom and student for easy distribution. • What is an Online Fair? • Products • Timing • Distribution All orders are packaged in clear bags for visibility to items and order details. Both individual and classroom bags contain packing receipts with details such as the purchaser and their comments to the recipient. You will receive a ship confirmation email which includes a UPS tracking number. Orders will ship within 3 business days after the Online Fair has concluded. We offer FREE SHIPPING to your school for all Online Fair orders. Return to Main Menu

Set Up: • Terms of Agreement • Set up begins in the Chairperson’s Toolkit by selecting the Online Fair tab. • The first step in setting up your Online Fair is reviewing and agreeing to the terms. • You will need to acknowledge your agreement by marking a checkbox. You will be able to view or print your terms of agreement at anytime. • If you have questions regarding your terms of agreement, please contact your Sales Consultant. • An email link to your Sales Consultant is provided on every page of your Chairperson’s Toolkit, Online Fair section. • Terms of agreement • Select dates • Change dates • Cancel • Order visibility Return to Main Menu

  7. Set Up: Select Dates The next (and final) step in setting up your Online Fair is to select dates for your online store to be accessible for customers to shop. By default, your Online Fair is ready to begin 3 days before your in-school Fair and end 3 days after your in-school Fair. However, you may change this date range per your preference utilizing the calendar tool. • Terms of Agreement • Select dates • Change dates • Cancel • Order visibility Note: The Online Fair duration cannot exceed 21 total days. Therefore, from beginning to end, you will not be able to keep your Online Fair open for more than 21 days. Return to Main Menu

  8. Set Up: Change Dates After your Online Fair set up is complete, you will be able to modify the dates you chose to activate your store site. If your Online Fair has started and you decide to end your Online Fair earlier than previously selected, orders may have been placed and will still ship to your school. • Terms of Agreement • Select dates • Change dates • Cancel • Order visibility In addition, it may take up to 24 hours before the store website becomes unavailable for customers to shop. Reminder: Please keep in mind when changing your dates to not exceed the 21 day Online Fair duration from start to finish. Return to Main Menu

  9. Set Up: Cancel If your Online Fair start date has not been reached, you may elect to cancel your Online Fair. It will take up to 24 hours before a cancellation is activated. • Terms of Agreement • Select dates • Change dates • Cancel • Order visibility Therefore, if the store website displays for customers to shop and orders are placed, they will ship to your school.   10. Set Up: • Order Visibility • After set up is complete, you will have access to view all sales activity for your Online Fair in real-time. Order details include: • Date of purchase • Purchaser name • Purchaser email • Items purchased and order amount • Recipient first name (last initial) • Recipient grade • Recipient teacher name • All order details may be printed. • Order tracking information will also display when available. • Terms of Agreement • Select dates • Change dates • Cancel • Order visibility Return to Main Menu

  11. Promote: Planning Kit The booklists in your planning kit will promote the Online Fair on the back cover, near the order form – with the exception of Pre-school Fair types.   12. Promote: Set Up Kit Your set up kit will contain the printed materials pictured here to be used during your in-school Book Fair.   13. Promote: Printables A link to your Online Fair printables are available in your Chairperson’s Toolkit (Online Fair tab) after you have completed setting up your Online Fair. The following items are accessible for customizing and reproducing: • Planning Kit • Set Up Kit • Printables • Wish lists • eCards • Letter home to families – from Chairperson or Principal (Spanish version available) • Email script or letter home from Teacher • Teacher announcement • Classroom Wish List donation cards • Bookmark (bag stuffer) • Flyer (bag stuffer) Note: Encourage teacher participation during the teacher preview event. Ask teachers to create a Classroom Wish List . There are items available online that are not at the in-school Book Fair. Provide teachers with the email script to send a note home inviting families to visit your Online Fair and view the Classroom Wish Lists. Return to Main Menu

  14. Promote: • Wish Lists • Wish lists are a great way to get the word out about your Online Fair. Encourage students and teachers to create and send wish lists by visiting the website as soon as it is accessible. You may want to begin your Online Fair a few days prior to your in-school Fair to allow time for students and teachers to preview books and send their wish lists. • After the start date of your Online Fair has arrived, follow the following steps to create a wish list: • Visit scholastic.com/schoolbookfairs • Select books and click the “Add to Wish List” button • View your Wish List (registration will be required when viewing the first time) • When you are ready, click the “send your wish list” button • Enter email addresses and send your wish list (Scholastic does not collect email addresses entered) • Note: when friends and family receive wish list emails, they will click the Online Fair link and be taken directly to the appropriate wish list. Promote: • eCards • eCards are a great way to get the word out about your Online Fair. • Encourage students and teachers to create and send eCards by visiting the website as soon as it is available. • You may want to begin your Online Fair a few days prior to your in-school Fair to allow time for students and teachers to preview books and send eCards. • After the start date of your Online Fair has arrived, follow the quick and easy steps to send an eCard: • Visit scholastic.com/schoolbookfairs • Click “Send eCard” in top right page • Register (if first time) • Select 1 of 3 eCard messages • Enter email addresses and send your eCard (Scholastic does not collect email addresses entered) • Note: When friends and family receive your eCard via email, they will click the Online Fair link and be taken directly to your Online Fair. • Planning Kit • Set Up Kit • Printables • Wish lists • eCards Return to Main Menu

  16. FAQ’s Financials Profit: To maximize your purchasing power, the profit earned on the Online Fair is offered in Scholastic Dollars. Payment Method: Customers may use all major credit cards when purchasing online. Purchase orders and checks are not accepted at this time. Sales Tax Requirements: Sales tax will be charged according to the local & state tax laws for your school’s location. The sales tax amount for your Online Fair will display in your Online Fair terms of agreement. Reporting Sales: You are not required to add the Online Fair sales on your Financial Form. Your Online Fair sales will automatically post to your Book Fair once your Online Fair has concluded and your order confirmation email has been sent. The Online Fair sales will increase your overall Fair profit and will display in your Chairperson’s Toolkit, Fair History once your Fair has been finalized. You will be able to view your Fair sales and Scholastic Dollars balance on your emailed account balance statements. • Financials • Customer Service • Feedback Return to Main Menu

  18. FAQ’s Feedback The Online Fair is a new shopping experience we are currently testing in select areas. Your feedback is not only encouraged and welcomed, it is critical to future success and continuation of this program. A link to a survey will be available in your Chairperson’s Toolkit, Online Fair tab once your Online Fair start date has been reached. Please take a few minutes to provide your candid feedback, including suggestions, concerns and kudos! Note: A few questions in the survey pertain to the shipping process so you may want wait to take the survey until after your orders have arrived at your school.
