  3. This identifies the official Portal with logo and the name of the college Masthead

  4. You use your CARS login information to get into MY MHCC to see more and get things done. Login Information morrisp ******

  5. Once logged in, this area allows accessibility to other areas in MY MHCC by way of portlets or the sidebar. Main Page

  6. These are designed for quick navigation to main areas of information on MY MHCC. Tabs

  7. This is the controllable area that holds the portlets. They are mini-applications inside MY MHCC portal. Context Area

  8. For example, this calendar. Each course will have its own. And your students will automatically be able to see it. You can erase the ones you want and add others. That training will come in another session. What’s a portlet, you ask? Each one of these areas is a special application. Portlets Mini applications: calendar, announcements, forums, groups, custom, etc.

  9. Now the sidebar will navigate you to the same places as clicking on the individual portlets. Quickly! Sidebar

  10. This long list is called Breadcrumbs. It gives you a path of where you are and how you got here. Clicking on a REDUNDERLINED item will quickly move you to that place in MY MHCC. Breadcrumbs

  11. If you see this (Context Manager) on a page, then you have administrative privileges for all the content on that page. Context Manager

  12. By clicking on Customize this page you can modify page properties, content, layout and security. Page Administration

  13. This little guy right here is called the Wrench. It allows you to set up personal preferences, settings, or security for each portlet. The Wrench Icon

  14. And, of course, there is the HELP button (?). It is context sensitive to the portlet it is in. HELP!!!
