  3. Registration – Step 1 .Check team details outside the Registration Hall .Check if names are correct & who is A, B, C or D .Check that the team enters the correct category

  4. Registration – Step 2 . Fill in & Sign the Disclaimer and bring it to the SP (will be sent to leaders before the event in early Nov) . Collect the Disclaimer at the counter if you don’t have a copy . Collect and fill in the Change of Team Member Form if necessary

  5. For both Disclaimer and Change of Member Form, ensure names match correctly with A (the leader), B, C, D

  6. Registration – Step 3 .Collect Walkers’ bag (outside the hall) > number cloth, barcode bracelets, energy food redemption coupon

  7. Registration – Step 4 • If necessary, hand in the completed Change of Team Member Form and pay $200 in cash for every member changed • Return the signed Disclaimer/Indemnity • Have your barcode scanned at the end of the registration table

  8. Registration – Step 5 MUST take a team photo (showing team number)

  9. Before Start, you can… Refill Water Remember to bring your own water bottle/ water bag

  13. CP1 -- Sai Wan

  14. CP2 -- Pak Tam Au

  15. CP2 -- Pak Tam Au

  16. Free Shuttle Bus Service(to CP2) • Route: between the barrier at Pak Tam Chung and CP2 (Pak Tam Au) • Time: From noon to 10pm on Friday (20 Nov)

  17. CP3 -- Kei Ling Ha Loading/ Unloading/ Parking is NOT allowed around the entrance of the checkpoint

  18. Check Point 3 -- Kei Ling Ha

  19. CP4 -- Gilwell Campsite

  20. CP5 -- Beacon Hill

  21. CP6 -Smugglers Ridge Rifle Range • NO vehicles are allowed to enter CP6. Loading, unloading and parking is also prohibited within 100m of the CP. • Walkers must use footbridge to cross Tai Po Road

  22. CP7 -- Lead Mine Pass

  23. Part of the MacLehose was changed by AFCD • From M153 to CP8 • We will follow the OLD trail along Tai Mo Shan Road = no change for event trail

  25. CP8 - Support Team Car Park • Support vehicle MUST have CP8 parking permit • For private car/ light goods vehicle only

  26. CP9 - Tai Lam Chung Reservoir • Closing time: 10:00 am (1 hour earlier)

  27. Final 6km to New Finish In total, about 2km longer than the old route Speed record will be re-set from OTW 2009

  30. Check In When you arrived a CP, remember to… • Register together at each Checkpoint • Register before closing time

  31. Refill Water • Cold & hot water (cold water only in CPs 1 & 5) • Water dispensers:SP, CPs 2-9 (must bring along own container) • Bottled water: CP1

  32. Feed yourself • Bread, jam, peanut butter (except CPs 1 & 5) • 3-in-1 coffee, milk tea, Ovaltine (except CPs 1 & 5) • Pears (CPs 2 & 5) • Cup noodles (CP7)

  33. CP Facilities • First Aid Station • Professional services: • Physiotherapy and Podiatry, Chinese Medicine Tui-Na (CPs 4 & 8, at specified hours) • Toilet

  34. Water Points • End of High Island Reservoir East Dam (between SP & CP1) • Foot of Needle Hill (between CP6 & CP7)

  35. Withdrawal during the walk • Must report your withdrawal to the organiser • CPs 1, 5, 7 & 9 cannot be accessed by public transport • If two members of a team have withdrawn, the other two members will not be allowed to continueuntil they have joined up with another team ** Once withdrawal is registered, no re-entry is accepted

  36. Withdrawal during the walk • At CPs: • report the withdrawal and obtain a Drop-out Certificate • Between CPs: • call the emergency number and pass your bracelet to the continuing team members

  37. Safety • Take good care of yourself • Walk as a team • Bring fully-charged mobile phone/ torch • Always display your number cloth to identify yourself as Trailwalker

  38. Distance Posts along the 100km Trail • Know the route well yourself • Follow the route • Take note of the posts, their location & numbering (M001-185 and OTW 186-195)

  40. In case of Emergency • Stay calm • NEVER leave an individual unattended • Go to the nearest CP for assistance • If cannot move, call emergency number imprinted on your bracelet. Report your team number, location, state of injury & phone number • If you call 999, quote that you are a Oxfam Trailwalker

  44. Finish Point • Finishing time will be recorded as the time thelast memberof the team reports to officials • After crossing the finish line, show proof of registering at NewRoute Control point, then have your barcodescanned > Wait for the Certificate Presentation

  48. Shuttle Bus Service Service hours: From 7am on 21 November (Sat) to 2:30pm on 22 November (Sun) Route: Run between the Finish Point and MTR Yuen Long Station. The bus schedule will be displayed at the Finish Point.
