  2. Liverpool • In Liverpool, The Beatles are very important. • Thousands of tourists visit the city every year to see The Beatles sites.

  3. The Beatles are a band from Liverpool • They started in 1958 and they broke up in 1970 • The members of the Beatles were John Lennon, Paul Mcartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr.

  4. The Beatles were the most famous band in the world. • They played concerts all over the world, and had many fans

The Beatles music • At the beginning, The Beatles music was rock and roll • However, they changed their style during their career • They sang pop music and also rock • Famous songs include Hey Jude, Yellow Submarine, Yesterday, Help and She Loves You • They sang about love and relationships, and also about peace in the world.

  8. John Lennon • John was the guitarist and song writer for the Beatles • He was born on 9th October, 1940 • He was a peace activist • After the Beatles, his most famous song was Imagine.

  9. John was assassinated on 8th December 1980 in New York • There is a memorial in Central Park and also in Liverpool, there are many statues

  10. Paul Mccartney • Paul Mccartney played the bass guitar and the piano for The Beatles • He wrote many songs with John Lennon • He was born on 18th June 1942 • He still plays concerts

  11. George Harrison • George Harrison was the lead guitarist • He also wrote songs • He played guitar and also sitar, an instrument from India. • He was born on 25th February 1943 • He died of cancer on 29th November 2001

  12. Ringo Starr • Ringo played the drums • Ringo was the oldest Beatle and George was the youngest • He was born on 7th July, 1940 • After the Beatles he acted in films and sang.
