  1. Welcome to Back to School Night 2nd Grade

  2. About the Primary School… • Walker notes must be in by 3:00 p.m. • Send in a note with child or email myself and Deanna Baker (our secretary) • No Parents at lunch until further notice (due to increase of students in cafeteria) • Try to schedule appointments at the end of the day so academics are not missed

  3. Our School Continued… • Music and Art are taking place in our classroom • Birthday Treats/Class Party Treats MUST be from our approved snack list, PLEASE NO BAKED GOODS. • Send in everything needed for a birthday treat (napkins/plates/silverware/etc)

  4. Cocoa Principles • School wide initiative • Staff will select student who is displaying the COCOA principles (5 per week) • Positive phone call will be made home by the principle • Their COCOA mug will be on display in the school

  6. Reading Street • Students take assessments online • Tests will be sent home with scores • Scores can be accessed online • Log in information was sent home https://www.pearsonsuccessnet.com/snpapp/login/login.jsp

  7. Everyday Math • There are games you can access on this site • Log in was sent home • Great to reinforce math skills (especially if your child finishes math homework easily) http://em-ccss.everydaymathonline.com/g_login.html

  8. Spelling City • Great way for child to practice spelling words. Can access through the Wiki (words are already loaded) • http://dtsd2ndgrade.wikispaces.com/

  10. Homework • Every night (Monday-Thursday) • Read 15 minutes (mark in calendar how long child read for with an initial on each day or signature at the bottom of calendar). This ensures your child will earn Book It (begins in October) • Math Home link every night • Should not take more than 20 minutes to complete. If so, send a note in attached with homework explaining. • Practice Spelling words (list comes home on Monday) • NO HOMEWORK ON THE WEEKENDS   
