  1. Update the status of the evaluation of CSO Type A & B funding The purpose of the evaluation is to: • Document how resources have been expended to support CSO activities in immunisation, child health, health system strengthening, and government/CSO partnerships • Document the effectiveness of the programme • Enable GAVI, partners and others to learn from the experience • Account to GAVI funders, partners and the public health community (including governments, CSOs and the private sector) on the performance of the programme with regard to strengthening civil society engagement at country level in service delivery, coordination and policy development • Inform future programme design and activities and ensure maximum benefit to country partners and beneficiaries

  2. What is being evaluated? GAVI’s CSO support was divided into two types: Type A: To strengthen coordination and representation of CSOs in all GAVI-eligible countries. A lump sum investment was provided to strengthen coordination among and with CSOs involved with immunisation, child health and health system strengthening; and enhance civil society representation in the Health Sector Coordinating Committees (HSCCs) and Inter-agency Coordinating Committees (ICCs). The aim of the support was to facilitate: • a greater understanding of CSOs working in immunisation, child health and health system strengthening • more representative and vocal civil society inputs to national planning and implementation Funding: 7.2 Million USD allocated,1.2 Mio USD made available, 500 000 USD actually disbursed

  3. What is being evaluated? Type B: To help implement the GAVI HSS proposal or Comprehensive Multi Year Plan (cMYP) in 10 pilot countries only. The countries are: • Afghanistan • Georgia • Burundi • Ghana • Bolivia • Indonesia • DR Congo • Mozambique • Ethiopia • Pakistan US$22 million
