  1. I’m sick! “Why would I want to learn about diseases?!” “Of course you would, silly! The more you know, the less you get sick!” Dristi the E. Coli and Jennifer the HUS

  2. Egregious E. Coli Hi! I’m Dristi the E. Coli! Since I’m making a public speech, why don’t I tell you about myself! My full name is Escherichia coli(esh-e-reek-e-uh cole-eye ).I am being very friendly to you right now, but if I get into you from any open part of your body, you’ll get VERY sick. That’s right, I can’t get into you until you either eat me or I get into an opening of your body. I am normally found in cattle farms and can live in the intestines of healthy cattle, deer, goats, and sheep. Learn how you get E.coli, so you can prevent from getting into those situations on slide 4!

  3. Harassing HUS ……Ummmm…oh....hi! I’m……Jennifer the HUS. Yes, as you noticed I’m a little bored today, but I’m getting more excited after my army has attacked Susie Thompson. My full name is even longer than Dristi’s. It is Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome. HUS can cause kidney failure in severe cases like Susie Thompson. She also had severe dehydration which is another sign. This bacteria makes a toxin which destroys red blood cells. 90 percent of children survive this disease, but 10 to 30 percent get permanent kidney failure. Learn about how to get HUS on the next slide!

  4. How do you get HUS and E.coli ? Hello, I’m the narrator and don’t you want to know how you can get HUS and E.Coli? E.Coli HUS You can get E.Coli from cattle farms(like Allen’s Cattle) and can commonly come from petting zoos as well. You can get HUS from E.Coli so as you can guess both of them are close friends. It can also be found in uncooked meat like beef. You can not get this without actually getting it in your body.
