SMART Recorder Using the Smart Recorder, you can record any actions completed on the current SMART notebook page, including: • • writing with digital ink • • adding and modifying objects • • creating shapes This recording is saved as a part of the SMART Notebook file and can be replayed at any time from that SMART Notebook page.

Why record a SMART lesson? • • The Smart Recorder enables you to record an example of an activity or problem to replay when using the lesson activity in class. • •If students are working independently at the interactive whiteboard, they can view and review instructions and examples without seeking the help of the teacher.

  4. Why record a SMART lesson? • A pre-recorded lesson is extremely useful in any classroom. • You can use the ‘recorder’ function for: • Mini Lesson • In group rotations • To explicitly teach a new concept. • Assessment • For special needs children

  5. How to record a SMART lesson 1. Customize the tool bar. You can customize your tool bar by clicking view, then customize toolbar. Click on Smart Recorder and drag the icon to your toolbar . This will allow you too keep the record function on your toolbar. 2. SMART Recorder has a simple three-button interface thatenables you to control the recording process. 3. Press the Record button. 4. •Complete the actions you would like to record.Use the Pause and Record buttons throughout therecording as required.

  6. How to record a SMART lesson 5. Press the Stop button to end the recording. 6. You will be prompted to save the file. Select a location, name the file, and press Save. 7. The Recording Complete dialog box appears, providing details of the recording, including the size and recording time. 8. If you would like to immediately view your recording, check Play Recording.

  8. SMART Video Player • With SMART Video Player, you can play video files located on your computer. When you use Smart Video player, you can write over the video, whether it is moving or still. • If you are writing notes you would like to save for later use, you can write over a frame of video and capture your notes to SMART Notebook software. • This function makes watching a short clip or video both an interactive and creative process for children.

  9. How to use SMART Video Player Customize the tool bar. You can customize your tool bar by clicking view, then customize toolbar. Click on Video player and drag it to the toolbar. This will allow you too keep the Video Player function on your toolbar. Smart Video Player has an easy-to-use button interface that enables you to play and pause video and set your preferences for using digital ink. The following slides will show and explain each of the video player functions.
