  1. The Way of the Master Week 2 Teacher: Evangelist Wilmer Nunez

  2. How to confront sinners • Present Gods love: The biblical way • Acts 14:22 • The issue isn't one of happiness, but of righteousness (Luke 10:15,26, 18:18-20) • When the world see Gods perfect standard which they shall be judged by, than they will fear the Lord • Proverbs 16:6

  3. The cross is the focal point of Gods love (John 3:16, Romans 5:5-8, Galatians 2:20; Ephesians 2:4-5; 5:2,25; 1 John 3:16 and Revelations 1:5 among others) • How can we point to the cross without making reference to sin? • How can we refer to sin without using the law? (Romans 7:7) • Romans 7:13; Galatians 3:24 (Gods love is best expressed when a sinner sees how great his sin really is)

  4. Making sinners tremble • For a biblical presentation lets look at 2 Samuel 12: 1-14

  5. Order of the reproof • Relative • Knowledge • Nathan said to the “You are the man…. Why have you despised the commandment of the Lord?” • David cried “I have sinned against the Lord” • Than the prophet gave him grace and said “The Lord also has put away your sin; you shall not die”

  6. Imagine if Nathan being afraid of rejection would of said…. • God loves you and has a wonderful plan • But sin is in the way (doesn’t make sin personal) • David would of not cried out “I have sinned against the Lord” • Wouldn’t of produced godly sorrow which is necessary for repentance (2 Corinthians 7:10)

  7. The Ten commandments Part 1 • “You shall have no other gods before me” (Exodus 20:2-3) • Mark 12: 29-30 • Only Jesus remained un-condemned from this commandment (He was perfect in thought, word and deed (Hebrews 4:15)) • Everything Jesus did pleased the Father absolutely

  8. The first commandment means… • You know the Lord is the only true God and your God. • Worship and glorify him • Honor him • Loving • Delighting in him • Rejoicing in Him • Yielding all obedience and submission to him with the whole man

  9. The Ten commandments Part 2 - “You shall not make yourself any graven image…” (Exodus 20:4-6) • People will create a god that will tolerate their sin • The idol doesn’t have to be something tangible • See 1 Corinthians 10: 1-14 to see how idolatry leads to sexual sin

  10. Homework • Why cant you talk about the cross without making a reference to sin? (Explained) • Why cant you talk about sin without using the law? • Why should you make their sin personal? • Memorize the 2 commandments
