  5. How do we encourage 16-24 year olds to take up an apprenticeship?Examples of Activities:

  7. ‘Have a Go’ Events Events to give people, particularly young people, a chance to experience and fall in love with practical skills. There’s nothing like a hands on experience to enthuse and capture the imagination!

Examples of Activities: • ‘Big Bang’ – STEM Event 8th Feb 13 • Employment and Skills Fair 14th Feb 13 • Springfields ‘Have a Go’ Event 13/14th Mar 13 • Manufacturing and Engineering in Lincoln Event 25-27th May • Waddington Air Show 6/7th July 13 • Lincolnshire Construction & Skills 1st/3rd Oct 13

  14. Basic Facts • Employed people who EARN while they • LEARN Age 16+ • Minimum £2-65 per hour • Salary/wage paid by employer • Employed for 30 +hours a week • Average £120 per week for an Intermediate Level • Contract of employment / Paid holidays & Benefits

  15. National Apprenticeship Service AGE Grant • Available from April 1st 2012 – March 31st 2014 • To employers who have NOT employed an apprentice • within the last year • Employs 999 employees or less • Can claim £1,500 per apprentice – maximum of 10
