What type of syllabus is English for Palestine ? • English for Palestine is a modern , communicative English course which has been specially written for schools in Palestine . • The 12 levels systematically develop competence in the four skills ( listening , speaking , reading and writing ) and encourage students to become confident users of English . • English for Palestine introduces English to young children through familiar situations, stories, songs and games. The type of syllabus is skill – based .

What do the first few pages in the TB present ? • They present a table of contents which involves 16 topics such as: • Bloom's Taxonomy Verbs ( verbs of Knowledge , comprehension , application , analysis , Synthesis and evaluation) • Self evaluation questionnaire • Model lesson plans. A model preparation for a unit • They present general goals of teaching English for Palestine and a list of deleted subjects.

The main components are : 1- students book . presents the new language and provides classroom activities for practicing and recycling . 2- workbook . provides additional practice material 3- teachers book . offers detailed , step by step lesson notes 4- flashcards , pictures and posters . to present and practice vocabulary 5- teachers audio cassette ( cd ) Presents the all listening activities . : Are the components the same in the three stages ? No , they differs according to the stage itself Stage one ( the new edition ) they are : Pupils book with workbook activities , flashcards and posters , teachers book and teachers audio cassette. Stage two , they are : Stdents book , workbook , teachers book , posters and flashcards and teachers audio cassette. Stage three , they are : Students book , workbook , teachers audio cassette and teachers book .

  7. How many objectives are stated for each grade ? Give examples . • There are 25 objectives of teaching English for Palestine. Here are some examples of these objectives : • To develop students ability to use English for personal expression and enjoyment as well as for creative purposes. • To develop communicative skills in order to acquire, record, and use information form aural and written texts using traditional and non-traditional sources. • To develop students ability to present information in and organized manner in spoken or written English.
