PRESS CONFERENCES • Division in charge – Public Relations Division • Public Relations Division is responsible for contacts with journalists, news agencies and every month carries out press conferences on different topics • Dissemination of the results of statistical surveys is in accordance with Advance Release Calendar National Statistical Institute of Republic of Bulgaria

LIBRARY • Division in charge – Statistical Information Services Division • In the library data-users get direct, free of charge access to information sources • The library has a unique fund of statistical and economic publications of national and international statistics, dated from the end of XIX century. The library fund is over 35thousand volumes National Statistical Institute of Republic of Bulgaria

  16. LIBRARY Building of a contemporary library is a component of the project included in the National Phare Programme 2004. The modern library will have the following functionalities: • Intergrated searching library information system; • Electronic catalogues and digitalized library fund; • Internet and Intranet library access; • Automatic services; • Quick and effective searching engine to fully satisfy of users’ needs; • Library interchange – links with other libraries in the country and abroad; • Environment, established in accordance with the international library standards for preservation of the library fund National Statistical Institute of Republic of Bulgaria

STATISTICAL INFORMATION SERVICES Information materials and references are submitted to: • The bodies of the legislative, executive and judicial authority; • Ministries and central institutions, based on concluded agreements on data exchange; • Users within the country; • Users from abroad National Statistical Institute of Republic of Bulgaria

STATISTICAL INFORMATION SERVICES Trends in the field of statistical information services: • The number of users’ requests via e-mail is constantly increasing – in 2004 each fifth customer used this service; • Lots of data users prefer to obtain the data on key statistical indicators via telephone; • Increasing of requests under a specific requirements, concerning the prepared information products (tailor-made information); • The number of the performed special consultant services has increased National Statistical Institute of Republic of Bulgaria
