  1. Investigating an Anole Lizard Population Pg. 352

  2. Materials You Will Need • 2 cups • In cup 1, you will need 5 large ribbed paperclips, 5 smooth large paperclips, 10 small paperclips • In cup 2, 10 large ribbed paperclips, 10 smooth large paperclips

  3. To find the Genotype Frequency you must take the genotype (BB in this case) and divide it by the total number of Anoles BB Generation 1 Ex. (6/20 Total) x 100 = 30% To find the Allele Frequency you must find the total number of B’s (Generation 2), but this time we will divide it by 40. BB Generation 2 Ex. (There are 20 BB) (20/40) x 100 = 50%

  4. Allele Frequency % Allele Frequency Population Stage

  5. Answer the following questions and provide a graph of your allele frequencies • What happens to the frequency of each allele over the four generations? • Is this populations evolving, or is it in Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium? Explain. • Which of the five conditions required fro equilibrium are met and which are not?
