  1. Warm Up • David took a drive to town at an average rate of 40 mph. In the evening, he drove back at 30 mph. If he spent a total of 7 hours driving, what is the totaldistance traveled by David? (Hint you have to find the time first).

  2. Uniform Motion Apart and towards

  3. Objective • TSWBAT manipulate the equation D=rt to find uniform motion.

  4. Apart (Opposite Directions) Rudolph’s Distance Santa’s Distance Total Distance = Rudolph's Distance + Santa’s Distance

  5. Two jets leave Dallas at the same time and fly in directions. One is flying west 50 mph faster than the other. After 2 hours the jets are 2500 miles apart. Find the speed of each jet. opposite R x T = D are different are equal total of both distances

  6. Michael and Bianca left their house at the exact same time driving in different directions. Michael is driving 12 mph faster then Bianca. After 3 hours, they are 306 miles apart. How fast are Michael and Bianca driving.

  7. Towards Red Ned’s Distance Orangejello’s Distance Orangejello Red Ned Total Distance = Red Ned’s Distance + Orangejello’s Distance

  8. Two men, A and B, start toward each other at the same time from points 540 miles apart. If they travel 40 and 45 miles per hour respectively, in how many hours will they meet?

  9. Dakota and Yesenia start from two points, which are 375 miles apart and travel toward each other. Yesenia travels twice as fast as Dakota. They meet in 5 hours. Find the rate of each girl.
