  3. Myths About Mikvah Myth 1:  Mikvah is for orthodox Jewish Myth 2: Every natural water body is mikvah Every mikvah a Jew does brings its own blessings to himself and the whole world. Especially the mitzvot pertaining to Jewish intimacy. Mikvah water must be contained; and natural, flowing water must be fed by underground water sources. Man- made lakes that are not perfectly contained, and are invalid .

  4. Myth 4: Keeping track of mikvah dates is tough and calculative Myth 3:  Mikvah discriminates against females It's not true. There are various apps and websites for the mikvah calendar. These apps and websites offer you customized Hebrew calendar with Ashkenaz, Sephardic and Chabad options or according to your own Rav. The Torah prescribes many uses of the mikvah for both male and female, married and single. Virtually all of these uses were suspended as a consequence of the destruction of the ancient holy Temple in Jerusalem in the year 70. The rituals entailing the uses of a mikvah by males, and all but one use by females, operated only when the Temple stood. Myth 5: Mikvah is expensive The main costs associated with a mikveh are the total costs of the land, the construction, the architect, the appointments (tiles, showers, sinks, bathtubs, etc.), and halalchic supervision, not the mikveh pools themselves.
