Complete and Simple Subjects • Consists of all words that tell whom or what the subject is about • The simple subject is part of the complete subject • The simple subject is the main word or group of words that tells whom or what • Example: The dangerous trip over the mountains took four days. • Complete: The dangerous trip over the mountains • Simple: Trip

Predicates • Tells something about the subject • Complete predicate consists of a verb and all the words that describe the verb and complete its meaning Example: Marco’s brother delivers pizzas. • Simple predicate (verb) is the main word or group of words that tells something about the subject. • Example: Marco’s brother delivers pizzas.
