  3. “Liberalism” • “a movement in Protestantism advocating a broad interpretation of the Bible, freedom from rigid doctrine and authoritarianism, etc.” • It is simply a very loose and liberal attitude toward authority • This same attitude now exists with many who would identify themselves as churches of Christ

  4. Danger of Liberalism • Fail to respect authority of Christ • Matthew 28:18; Colossians 3:17 • Fail to respect silence of scriptures • Matthew 7:21-23; 2 John 9-11 • Exalts men above word of God • 1 Corinthians 4:6

  5. Danger of Liberalism • Leads to immoral conduct • Galatians 5:19-21 • Promotes “social gospel” • Galatians 1:6-10 • Promotes recreation and entertainment • Places emphasis on “Big”

  6. What Must I Do To Be Saved? • Hear the gospel (Romans 10:17) • Believe Jesus is Christ (Acts 8:37) • Repent of your sins (Acts 17:30) • Confess your faith (Matthew 10:32) • Baptized for remission of sins (Acts 2:38) • Faithful unto death (Revelation 2:10)
