  2. The New Standard for Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) • The new revision of SAE J1772 provides key design guidelines for charging controls and connectors for charging plug-in vehicles, and was actually developed to accommodate the latest generation of plug-in vehicles with high-energy batteries. The new "combined" coupler combines the interface of the existing SAE J1772 AC connector with the new direct DC coupling terminal. More specifically, the combined system must include both AC and DC output circuits and corresponding communication circuits, and use new format connectors.

  3. 7 Seater SUV Cars in India • Most notably, the standard shortened the charging time from eight hours or more to as short as 20 minutes.SAE J1772 benefits the entire industry by providing consensus standards for AC and DC charging stations, thereby providing guidance for OEMs and certification bodies, and providing guidance for charging infrastructure. However, like any new standard, manufacturers now face the challenge of understanding the new safety requirements and their impact on US compliance. However, under the guidance of experienced testing partners, electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) manufacturers can simplify their certification process and learn to adopt new unified standards. Next week’s blog will continue to follow this topic in subsequent blogs. Do you have a question about one of our experts? Please leave a comment below and we will contact you as soon as possible.
