  2. What are “Works by Others” • Works initiated by any individual or external agency on the Main Roads network (State Road) • Main Roads controlled roads can be found at www.mainroads.wa.gov.au> Our Roads > Facts and Figures > Roads Controlled by Main Roads

  3. Who is required to submit an Application All external agencies: • Utility Service Providers • Local Authorities • Developers • Land Owners and • Any other organisation who wish to undertake works, that have not been initiated by Main Roads, in a Main Roads’ road reservation

  4. Why we require an Application • To confirm that the works are acceptable to Main Roads • To investigate any conflicts with other works • To ensure the proposed works will not affect future Main Roads infrastructure plans • To assess the impact on traffic flow • To monitor works occurring on the Main Roads network • To ensure the works comply with the “Utility Providers Code of Practice” • To ensure the Traffic Management Plan complies with the “Traffic Management for Works on Roads – Code of Practice” and Australian Standard 1742.3

What we require for Complex Works • Road design drawings • Geometric design • Drainage design • Profiles and cross sections • Street lighting design • Pavement design • Signing & Lining Plans • Traffic Signal design drawings • Landscaping proposal • Environmental documents • Application Form to work within a Main Roads reservation • Traffic Management Plans
