  1. HOLY WEEKSERVICE OF RECONCILIATION

  2. WHEN HE HAD WASHED THEIR FEET HE SAID TO THEM

  3. You call me teacher and Lord and rightly so, for that is what I am. If I, your Lord and teacher, have washed your feet. You should also wash one another’s feet.

  4. I HAVE GIVEN YOU AN EXAMPLE THAT SO YOU ALSO SHOULD DO

  5. EXAMINATION OF CONSCIENCE SCRIPTURE READINGS FROM HOLY WEEK

  6. MOUNT OF OLIVES He came out and went, as was his custom, to the Mount of Olives; and his disciples followed him He said to them,

  7. ‘Pray that you may not come into the time of trial’.

  8. STAY HERE AND KEEP WATCH WITH ME WATCH AND PRAY

  9. Then he withdrew from them about a stone’s throw, knelt down, and prayed, ‘Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me;

  10. yet, not my will but yours be done.’

  11. Then an angel from heaven appeared to him and gave him strength. In his anguish he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat became like great drops of blood falling down on the ground.

  12. When he got up from prayer, he came to the disciples They were sleeping, he said to them, ‘Why are you sleeping? Get up and pray

  13. that you may not come into the time of trial.’

  14. JESUS ACCEPTS HIS DESTINYDo I put security and comfort above all things? Am I prepared “to drink the cup” the Father has given me? Do I rely on myself or do I rely on God?

  15. THE ARREST Suddenly a crowd came, and the one called Judas, one of the twelve, was leading them. He approached Jesus to kiss him, Jesus said to him,

  16. ‘Judas, is it with a kiss that you are betraying the Son of Man?’

  17. JUDAS THE TRAITOR STANDS ALONGSIDE JESUS AND HIS DISCIPLES Do I stand alongside Jesus, even when my actions betray him? Have I ever denied my Christian values? Have I put personal gain above my Christian values?

  18. PETER’S DENIALS Then they seized him and led him away, Peter was following at a distance. They had kindled a fire in the courtyard and sat down together,

  19. PETER SAT AMONG THEM

  20. Then a servant-girl, stared at him and said, ‘This man also was with him.’

  21. But he denied it, saying.’ Woman, I do not know him.’

  22. A little later someone else, said, ‘You are also one of them.’ But Peter said, ‘Man, I am not!’ Then about an hour later yet another kept insisting, ‘Surely this man also was with him; But Peter said, Man, I do not know what you are talking about!

  23. At that moment, while he was still speaking, the cock crowed.

  24. The Lord turned and looked at Peter.

  25. Then Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he had said to him, ‘Before the cock crows today, you will deny me three times.’

  26. And he went out and wept bitterly.

  27. PETER DENIES JESUS THREE TIMES Do I readily tell others, in my place of work or during social encounters, that I am a Christian ? Would others know that I am “one of His disciples” by the way I live my life?

  28. Do I, on occasions, act out of fear rather than out of love? TIME FOR INDIVIDUAL CONFESSION
